TANNOURINE EL FAWQA (Chir Al Ribazi)

Climbs 40 (4c to 7c) – Rocktype Limestone – Altitude 1585m a.s.l.

Distance from Beirut 90 KM ; 1h45 – Season to climb: Spring, Summer & Autumn

One of the oldest crags to be equipped in the country. It was bolted by French military soldiers in the late 1990's. Enjoy beautiful views with a great variety of beginner routes all the way up to 7c. You also have the option to do long multi-pitches. The crag gets sunny around midday.

HOW TO GET THERE

From Beirut, drive North until you reach Batroun. Take the exit on the right, pass on the bridge, go right and then again right. You are now going up to Tannourine. It is a 45 min drive until you reach Tannourine El Tahta. Keep on driving up to Tannourine El Fawqa village. Take a left, you will see a church. Keep driving for 10 min, the road has many small turns. You will then reach a flat road, where there will be on the left a sign in blue. It is a tight road, take it. Then make a left turn, you will be on a dirt road. Drive for about 5 min until you reach a metal cabin. Park your car there, the crag is right behind that mountain. A small path leads the way.
