Climbs 21 (5b to 7a) – Rocktype Limestone – Altitude 625m a.s.l.
Distance from Beirut 60 KM ; 1h15m – Season to climb: Spring, Summer & Autumn
West facing cliff located in Tiid village, offering pleasant views and beautiful sights in the valley of Bisri. The crag holds mainly technical climbs. A 70 m rope is enough for all the routes.
This site was developed by the LCA in collaboration with Canadian climber Ulric Rousseau and Emilie Pellerin Mexican climber Eva Moya Prado, and local climber Nicolas Saadeh, in November 2014.
HOW TO GET THERE
From Saida, drive up to Aazour (on the way to Jezzine). Locate an olive tree as a roundabout on your left, take it and make a left on a straight road. “Al Baba” sign indicates the road down on the right, going to the Bisri valley. Keep driving down for 10 min. At the end of the road, locate a church on the left (you can already see the crag on the other side). Make a right turn and follow the road leading to the crag. Park your car on the road. Be sure not to walk up through the olive trees but right next to that, as it is a private land.
Wearing a helmet for the climber and belayer is a must as it is a new crag and rocks are still coming off the cliff while climbing!
WATCH OUT FOR YOUR ROPE AND THE SILEX STONE IN THE ROCKS.
